CIPET or Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology offer innovative courses for presenting the right talent to the industry of plastic. Cipet headquarters was established in 1998 at Chennai. It is an ISO 9001:2008 QMS, NABL, ISO/IEC 17020 certified leading national Institution. Cipet is the only institute of its kind in India that provides amenities like testing of plastics, tooling, processing and designing. The institute has a separate research and development sector acknowledged as ARSTPS (Advanced Research School for Technology and Product Simulation).
CIPET has established additional centers in many states. Each and every center has CAD, plastic processing and testing/quality control, machinery in the area of mould/product design and development. The institute trains about 10000 students every year during the long term programs and 20000 trainees are trained during the short term programs. To improve the skill & technical capability, CIPET provides a broad range of short-duration, skill-cum-technology up-gradation Programs.
CIPET conducts variety of Academic Programs for different levels of entry qualifications like Diploma, Post Diploma, Degree, Doctoral and PG Diploma in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 QMS. The academic activities are classified in ‘Four Tier’ according to the Human Resource need of Indian Plastics Industries and Sustainability of the Institute. Doctoral Programs are conducted at Bhubaneswar and Chennai, and Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs are conducted at Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai & Lucknow. At CIPET, the academic atmosphere is a mixture of modern technical skills with a traditional emphasis. CIPET has a healthy interaction with the industry, which is put into practice by the trainees.
The admission process in Cipet is quite simple. For doctoral program, the candidates will be selected on the basis of academic presentation and the marks obtained in the interview. Candidates applying for Post Graduate Program must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), selection will be based on the academic performance and marks obtained by the candidate. Those applying for Under Graduate Program are selected on the basis of admission policies of affiliating Universities like Chennai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Bhubaneswar. For Post Graduate Diploma, Post Diploma & Diploma Programs, the candidates must be successful in JEE and should satisfy the eligibility criteria.
