An American musical comedy-drama television series is Glee, which telecast on Fox. It hubs on "New Directions!" that is a high school show choir (glee club), locate inside the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. On 19 May 2009, after American Idol, the pilot episode of the show was broadcast. On 9 September 2009, the first season began airing. Fox officially gave the series a full-season pick-up on 21 September 2009. On 9 December 2009, Glee telecasted its mid-season finale and before returning on 13 April 2010 with the remaining 9 episodes of the season, Glee is currently on a 4-month hiatus. At the Television Critics Association winter press tour on 11 January 2010, Fox President, Kevin Reilly announced that Glee has been renewed for a second season.
Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are the creators of the show. Glee was first conceived as a film by Ian Brennan. Series' music is selected by Murphy and he also maintains a balance between show tunes and chart hits. During the week of broadcast, on iTunes, Songs of the show are released and through Columbia Records a series of Glee albums will be released. On 3 November 2009, beginning with Glee: The Music, Volume 1 was released. With over two million digital sales, the music of Glee has been a commercial success.
