For the first time, she has been selected for London Olympics 2012 to represent women's boxing. She is the first, and one and only Indian woman boxer who will represent India in Olympics. She has 100% quality to win a medal for the country. Recently, she has beat Chinese challenger Ren Cancan at the 6th Asian Women's Boxing Championship for winning gold medal. For Olympic game preparation, she has got training from three heavier male boxers in Pune. Now, she wants to end the athletic career by achieving Olympic medal.
Sushil Kumar (Wrestling):
Sushil Kumar, India’s best wrestling player has second time got honor to represent India in wrestling match in Olympics 2012. He has already won the Bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics for the Men's 66kg Freestyle wrestling event. He is the second Indian wrestler after the Kashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav, who won the medal in wrestling event. In 2010 at world championship, he has reputed himself as World-class wrestler by achieving gold medal. He got fame after winning bronze medal in 2003 Asian Wrestling Championships. As per review, he will give tough fight to his opponent and win second Olympic achievement.
Vijender Singh (Boxing):
Vijender Singh does not need any introduction because he got fame by giving his best performance in 2008 Olympics and achieving bronze medal by defeating Ecuadorian Carlos Gongora in the quarterfinals. With this achievement, he has become the first Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics. He is first Indian boxer who will appear in Olympics game third successive time. He has achieved this chance by defeating Chuluuntumur Tumurkhuyag of Mongolia. 26-year old, Vijender has also won gold medal at 2010 Guangzhou. In 75kg weight category, he is the strongest player of India and ready to achieve gold medal in Olympics.
Gagan Narang (Shooting):
Ganan Narag is one of the best ace Indian shooters; especially best known in air rifle shooting has achieved the golden opportunity to represent India in the London Olympics 2012. He is the first Indian to be selected third time for Olympics and he has the realistic chance of winning the planet’s biggest sporting event. He has also gone on to achieve number of other medals in the ISSF World Cups, Commonwealth Games, World Championship, and the Asiad. Now, we expect more from Gagan Narang after disappointment from Deepika Kumari and Shiva Thapa.
Abhinav Bindra (Shooting):
We cannot forget the golden boy of Indian shooting - Abhinav Bindra as he is the first Indian, who won gold medal in the 10m air rifle event in 2008 Beijing Olympics. His achievement is the great inspiration for next generation Indian shooters. After the great success in the Beijing Olympics, he has raised the hope of world’s second most populous nation. He also has got many gold medal records including 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships, 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, etc. We strongly believe in the Abhinav Bindra to give toughest competition to his competitor.
Saina Nehwal (Badminton):
She is the World No. 5 badminton player and just like Abhinav Bindra, people are more hoping from Saina Nehwal to bring India a first Olympic badminton medal. She is the first Indian woman who reach singles quarterfinals at the Olympics as well as first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships. Nehwal won gold medal at Commonwealth Games. In her interview, she said, "My dream is to win a medal for India in badminton". With her dream, she has jumped into the Olympics and now we can see that she has reached at quarter finals in London Olympics.
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa (Badminton):
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa are the badminton doubles specialists, who expect to carry Olympic gold medal for nation. Both are very experienced players in badminton sports - they give their best in women's doubles and mixed doubles. Both have played together since 2009 and recently they won Commonwealth Games gold and bronze medal in World Championship at Wembley arena in London. Unfortunately, both have lost their first match in London Olympics, but they have second chance to give their best.
Leander Paes and Sania Mirza (Tennis):
Sania Mirza and Leander Paes are selected in the mixed doubles for Olympics. Leander Paes is very strong player in tennis as well as he is one and only who won Olympic tennis medal at the 1996 Atlanta Games. This tennis pair has already been noticed as India's best bet for a tennis medal. This Dous has won the bronze medal at the 2002 Busan edition and gold medal at 2006 Doha Asian Games. Both will appear for first time for Olympics event in mixed doubles. In the Olympics, India’s number one women tennis player will play front side, while Paes will support her by standing on backside. Both are very strong in their place, so just wait and watch what will happen in London Olympics.
Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna (Tennis):
Bhupathi and Bopanna are also strong in tennis men’s doubles. This strong duo have won solitary tournament from 14 outings. They have also played five semi finals together. There is more expectation from this pair because both are very strong tennis players. Bhupati and Bopana will first face Alexander Bury and Max Mirnyi. There is a more expectation from this doubles because other men’s doubles is set between Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan, in which Leander Paes is best doubles player of tennis while Vishnu Vardhan is little bit low than others. So, it seems Bhupati and Bopana are very strong to carry gold medal for nation.
