India’s leading smartphone manufacturer, Karbonn, has recently released another addition to their Android series of budget smartphones. Karbonn A9 is a new affordable Android Special for the Indian smartphone lovers. The company has not officially announced the launch of the new Karbonn A9; however it is currently available in India through various online retail websites with a price tag of nearly Rs. 9000. The new device is packed with many high end features.
The smartphone sports a generous 3.8 inch capacitive touch input system based display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and 5MP HD rear camera with dual LED sparkle as well as confirmation tape capability. Loaded up with a 1 GHz processor, the Karbonn A9 will run on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system. Keeping in mind the competition factor, the company has even included dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) functionality with this device, permitting users to have 2 numbers run concurrently on the phone.
A key highlight in the Karbonn A9’s specs is the 1600 mAh battery that can let you go without charging it for around two days with light or medium usage. The battery delivers upto 4 hours of talk time and upto 200 hours of standby time. It has 1 GB on board storage and the micro-SD card slot lets you to expand the memory upto 32GB. The dimensions of the handset are 120 * 60.5 * 11.3 mm. Karbonn A9 is also intended to utilize shared networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Yahoo, MSN, YouTube, Myspace and Google Talk.
Karbonn A9 is accessible in Black and Ivory White color. You may be aware about Apple's Siri voice assistant software that made its introduction with the iPhone 4S. Even, Karbonn A9 has such one inbuilt app that helps you doing work of SMSing, e-mailing and other works at your voice commands. When talking about connectivity options, it has Bluetooth, WiFi with hotspot functionality, 3G, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio, etc.
At present, FlipKart is selling Karbonn A9 for Rs 9,199 while Infibeam is offering it for a price of Rs 8,999. The device is estimated to be made accessible through lots of more sellers online and offline soon. Until now, there is no word of launching date from the manufacturer. This handset will have to face strong competition with Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and other entry-level Android smartphones like the ViewPhone 3 and those from brands such as Micromax, LG and HTC.
