Recently, the Android market is blasting with more and more tabs as many leading company will make their launch in this segment with most affordable price. Beetel Magic has already declared a budget friendly Android tab which priced less than Rs.10,000. Now Mercury, which is a famous brand in computer peripherals and well-known for its motherboards, has also entered the tablet market by launching its first tablet mTab with a new low cost of Rs. 9,499 in the Indian market.
For Mercury, the tablet segment is a new venture and in terms of price it has to compete with recently launched Beetel and Reliance 3G tablet. Mercury claims that this low-priced m-tab definitely heated up the entry level tablet market. The company has launched this Android tablet mTab with some quality attributes and configurations.
In India, Mercury has released the first triple core Processor based tablet named as mTab for faster processing. The tab is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8 processor. It is equipped with 7-inch large WVGA display with a capacitive touchscreen that offers a resolution of 800x480 pixels. Mercury mTab is powered by 512 MB RAM, 4 GB inbuilt storage along with an expandable memory of up to 32 GB.
Mercury mTab has 1.3 MP front facing camera that enables video calls, chats, video conferencing and creates video recordings. Unfortunately, it does not have any rear camera. The tab measures 19.3cm X 11.7cm X 1.4cm and weighs just 400gms that make it much easiest on hand. The tablet has efficient 4000 mAh battery which make tablet capable to play video, music formats, photo continuously up to 4 hours with a single charge. It comes with G sensor screen rotation for 3D G-games.
Mercury mTab supports strong compatibility with both the 3G and the WiFi networks. This device work well with additional USB port so that mTab will offer consumer, special 3G packages in form of an add-on bundle for Internet surfing freedom.
Features like expandable memory up to 32 GB and Optional 3G slot makes mTab a complete tablet in the current competitive market. This mTab will take up a warranty period of 1 year and likely to hit stores in this September.
Sushmita Das, the manager for Mercury, India, said the company wants to bring out quality devices that will fit even common user's budget and assured the mTab will be filled with most desirable applications to offer completely new experience.
