Yu Wenxia won the title of Miss World 2012 on August 18, 2012 at the Miss World pageant which was held in Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, China. Once again, this amazing title of Miss World has been awarded to Miss China, Yu Wenxia. Last time, the Miss World title was honored to Zhang Zilin in the year 2007. The city of Ordos hosted the International beauty pageant for the first time and Yu Wenxia was lucky enough to be crowned as Miss World at her home ground. There were 116 contestants from all over the world who participated in the beauty pageant.
Yu Wenxia, the 23 year old model hails from Liaoning, China. She was born on August 6, 1989. Yu stands 5 ft 9 inch tall. She defeated the other 115 candidates based on her intelligence, beauty and talent in the competition. Wenxia is a music student and she aspires to become a music teacher. She loves dancing, playing piano, travelling, and hiking. She mentioned herself as ‘someone who follows her dream with a smile’. Her favorite food is dumplings. When she was asked why she should be crowned, Yu also said that she wants to help more children in the future.
As per the audiences, who were present at the event said that Yu looked like a ‘living doll’ on the stage. Yu wore stunning ballgowns during the last two-hours of the event and she entertained the audiences with her sweet voice by singing one of the popular Chinese songs. Later, she appeared in a sparkling blue dress while she was being crowned by Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela, the winner of Miss World 2011 at the event.
