Motorola is planning a new tablet which will be very small tablet. The tablet images have been leaked on the verge this week in the form of not only packaging but in the device itself. The newest tablet device called Motorola Corvair looks like a home theater remote control on steroids. A series of leaked images indicate that the tablet will be a low-end tablet and images also provide some details. It is expected that Motorola has been planning to make cable boxes and it may be the best way to interact with them. The other rumor is that tablet is being tested by cable companies.
It runs on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS that acts as a television controller and it has 6 inch capacitive touchscreen display. The device is packed with 2.0 microUSB and 4,000 mAh Li-Ion battery which may provide weeks of channel surfing capacity. The phone has IR controller that helps to communicate with other devices and expects to work as an RF remote control. The dedicated controller also appears to show the tablet wirelessly displaying its entire Ui on the TV that can be used to stream and watch television content from cable and other network providers.
The other specifications have not been revealed and it comes with infrared control for controlling traditional TVs and set-top boxes, RF4CE which is a ZigBee based radio remote control protocol as well as compatible with Wi-Fi. There are also volume and power buttons placed on the front of the device. It is expected that the tablet will come with devoted buttons on the side and 16:10 screen ratio. There is no e-book reading application. The cost of this tablet is expected to be around £379.
