Latest android smartphones are unveiling by the reputed companies so the competition in the market is getting tougher and tougher. Korean manufacturer, Samsung Mobile has introduced a new mid-level Android Smartphone, Galaxy Ace plus in the starting of 2012. This Smartphone is the improved version of company’s widely popular handset, Galaxy Ace. The phone will be available in Russia and then in Asia, Africa, Southeast and Southwest Asia, CIS, Latin America, China and Europe for purchase in first quarter of 2012. The price of Galaxy Ace Plus is expected to be 299 Euros ($388).
Samsung Galaxy Ace plus is made for trendy and professionally & socially active young people. The Galaxy Ace Plus has improved software, design and hardware compared to original Galaxy Ace. It comes with better processor and larger screen than its predecessor. It will follow the footprints of Galaxy Ace but in terms of sharing abilities, it will step a point ahead. It will join with more costly and higher specified handsets in the Galaxy range.
Specs Review of Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus
The Galaxy Ace Plus looks as if Apple’s iPhone 4 with its rounded edges, curved glossy black back and screen-to-device ratio. The main differences are camera (on back), the big rectangular home button (on front) and the logos.
Operating System and Processor
Both, operating system and processor has been improved by the company. Samsung Galaxy Ace includes Android v2.0 (Froyo) and 800 Mhz processor while Galaxy Ace Plus comes with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread O.S.) and 1GHz single core processor.
Screen and Dimensions
It features larger display compared to original Smartphone. It has 3.65-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen (from 3.5 inches) with same resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The screen supports up to 16M colors as well as has Multitouch capability and Samsung Touchwiz user interface to improve touching experience. The weight and measures of the device are 115gms (from 113 gms) and 114.5 x 62.5 x 11.2mm (from 112.4 x 59.9 x 11.5 mm) respectively.
Galaxy Ace plus also has improved internal storage capacity and RAM. Internal storage has been enhanced from 158MB to 3GB (1GB for Apps and 2GB for Multimedia Content) and RAM from 278MB to 512MB. Internal storage can be expanded up to 32 GB through microSD memory card. There is also support for unlimited phonebook entries with photocall as well as call records.
No change has been made in Camera. It comes with same 5MP primary camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution. Auto-focus, Geo Tagging, Smile Detection, LED flash and Face Detection are other additional features of camera.
The battery of Galaxy Ace plus has been downgraded slightly from 1,350mAh to 1,300mAh. This is the most disappointing change in the device. 1,300mAh Li-Ion Battery delivers up to 17 hrs of talk time and 650 hrs of stand by duration.
Network and Technology
Both, 2G and 3G network is supported by this improved version. For 2G network GSM technology (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) has been used and for 3G network, HSDPA technology (900/2100 MHz). 3G network speed of the phone is 7.2 Mbps with HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps with HSUPA.
Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus comes with enhanced Bluetooth from v2.1. to v3.0 + A2DP. It also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g along with Wi-Fi hotspot, GPRS, DLNA and EDGE.
It is equipped with Java MIDP 2.1 so it supports java applications and games. It has preloaded applications such as Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk, Youtube, Image Editor, Google Search, etc. It also includes WAP 2.0/xHTML, Accelerometer sensor, Stereo FM radio with RDS, HTML browsers and proximity sensor & compass.
The Galaxy Ace Plus is nice looking Smartphone but it does not match high-end smartphones in some areas. It is the best phone for the people who are just looking to dip their toes in Android world.
