The latest Android Smartphone from Sony Ericsson, Xperia Active is specially designed with the style of the SE Xperia Active gym to target the customers with active lifestyles. Sony Ericsson Xperia Active was first announced in June. This handset comes with water & dust protection and its unique feature; wet finger tracking ensures that the phone works perfectly when a user’s fingers or the screen are wet. Sony Ericsson has launched this device recently at an event in India and it will be available from this month.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is equipped with a 5MP camera, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, and 3.0-inch screen Reality Display powered with Mobile BRAVIA Engine. Its unique display has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It will run on the latest Android platform for smartphones (Gingerbread 2.3). The handset comes loaded with 5mp camera with HD video functionality and a powerful 1 GHz processor.

The Xperia Active comes equipped with sports apps that allow users to easily track their fitness levels. Using the built-in GPS, Compass and Barometer, consumers can set their ideal training route. As well, users can also monitor on-screen heart rate and pulse in realtime (enabled by ANT+ wireless networking technology), whereas the iMapMyFitness app can observe day to day performance. Additionally, consumers can share their experiences and progress with friends by Facebook inside Xperia™.

The phone has dimensions of 92 × 55 × 16.5 mm and weighs only 110.8 grams. Sony Ericsson Xperia active is powered with discrete processor with 1 GHz clock frequency. The device has 5 megapixels camera with auto focus and LED flash options for the low light conditions. In terms of data connectivity, the handset is well equipped with wireless Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, EDGE, GPRS, HSDPA and HSUPA.

The Xperia Active will be available in four color combinations; White, Black-Red Orange, Black with White, and White-Red Orange. The phone will provide high-quality music experience with new headphones. At an event, Sony Ericsson has also launched a new accessory in the form of Hi-Fi headphones and a multimedia docking station. With this station, you will turn on some music apps from the Android Market.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active will let you to access over 250,000 apps from the Android Market. The price of this device has not been announced yet.
